Chiropody/Podiatry
A podiatrist is a health professional who deals with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of medical and surgical conditions of the feet and lower limbs. A podiatrist provides a medical service for the feet and foot related conditions. A podiatrist has skills in general foot treatments but may have developed particular specialisms in nail surgery, biomechanical assessments and foot posture related pathologies.

So chiropody / podiatry is a medical treatment, not a cosmetic service. After treatment, however, the feet will often look so much better, and feel more comfortable as well.

Counselling
Counselling means talking with an impartial listener, someone who will help you deal with your feelings in a healthy way. In a safe and supportive setting you can rest assured that your issues will be kept confidential. A counsellor is someone whom you can expect to treat you with respect  and without judgement.

If you are in a difficult situation it can help you to:

Understand clearly your problem
Feel more in control of your life
Learn how to cope more easily
Find your own solution
Approach life in a fresh way

The length of your therapy will depend upon the nature of the problem. Just a few sessions might be enough to support you during a particularly difficult time or perhaps you need to deal with a more difficult issue that will take longer.  Ultimately, it is your decision as to what we discuss.

Counselling sessions run for 50-60 minutes, once a week.

Nutritional Therapy
Many people suspect their symptoms are linked to what they eat but struggle to know what to avoid or how to avoid it. Nutritional Therapy is a method of exploring whether changing your diet could improve your symptoms. It is rooted in science and biochemistry but blends these with naturopathic and holistic principles. It is, therefore a form of complementary medicine.  However, unlike other forms of complementary medicine, it is not a passive activity for the client - you must be willing to take action and make changes to your diet.

Therapy starts with a symptom and diet questionnaire completed at home, followed by a detailed consultation. Your information is then interpreted to devise a trial diet and assess whether supplements (e.g. vitamins and minerals) would help. Depending on how your symptoms respond, subsequent consultations refine the diet.  The goal of therapy is a diet that maintains any improvement but is not too difficult to live with.

A consultation takes approximately 1 hour.
